She then added that and when she returned to work she was not checked for the deadly bug.
Katherine – who plays Vicar Harriet Finch on the ITV soap – explained that she has a number of family members who work in the NHS before sharing on her sister.
The star said: “We have lots of cousins and nurses who are midwives and nurses, my sister is nurse.
She went on to add that at the start of the pandemic that she “was in bed for a while” but at “the time there was no tests” for Covid-19.
Ruth later asked: “They still haven’t tested her?”
Katherine replied: “No, no I don’t know what is happening there.”
Elsewhere during the chat the soap sensation also touched on future plans for Emmerdale – that was forced to halt filming during the pandemic – after Eamonn quizzed if the soap will incorporate the pandemic into storylines.

The TV presenter asked: “Do you think coronavirus – social distancing etc should be reflected in future episodes?”
Katherine added: “Soaps are there to reflect society, I think that these isolation episodes will do that, but do people want some escapism from all this?
“Will we be allowed to go the Woolpack? Will we be wearing masks in the high street? The writers are working on it.”
